Rolling through Oregon

Updated: Sep 10, 2020

Left Portland and headed to Lincoln City on the coast heading through the vineyards. For the next two days I have just riding down highway 101 alongside the Pacific drinking in the stunning views. Oregon is beautiful but it has been pretty cold. (Below freezing at night and frost on the ground throughout the day in areas of shade), but the curves of the highway make up for it. Given its beauty it would be great to stay longer but I need some heat!

Just crossed into California today and so will head closer to San Francisco over the next couple of days. 800 miles so far and not too many hours on the bike, which is a welcome contrast to the last few days in Russia where I was rushing to Vladivostok.

In terms of sights on the road, one Make America Great Again sign, a dump Trump roadside protest, a stretch hummer and an F14 Tomcat.

Wildlife spotted so far, plenty of live deer and elk buy the side of the road and dead racoons in the middle of the road.
