After the rolling plains of Lithuania, it was on to Riga, Parnu and now finally Tallinn.
Riga was spent relaxing at a place called Two Wheels, which is themed around adventure bike travel. They have a restaurant attached which seemed to be very popular with the locals for romantic meals. I can only assume that they go there to bask in the reflected glow of my glory!
Onwards to Parnu, which is an Estonian beach resort on the Baltic. I'm not sure I've quite cracked the travelling ethos yet, as my first evening meal was a starter of salmon, mussels and caviar, followed by a main course of ribs. Excellent and reasonable.
Upwards to Tallin. I'm here a couple of days to plan our my first set of movements in Russia and then I will move on to Narva where I will cross the border and hopefully buy insurance.
On the subject of insurance I spoke with my insurer to discuss my renewal. It went - how many miles will you do this year?
- Oh about 12,000
That's a lot, let me get an updated quote. Ah, its gone up from £400 to £3500.
- Er mate, the bikes worth 6 at best. Also I'm not asking you to insure me for those 12,000 miles cos it'll be covered by insurers in Russia, Canada and USA, so you are off risk.
Righto, let me check...….. we can't insurer you cos you are outside of the country.
- I know I'm not asking you to. I just want insurance when I return to the UK
Righto, ….. nah we still won't insure you
Thanks. Quick check online - £94 for the year from someone else.
Good grief!

(Two Wheels Riga did some great food.)
